07/06/07 - Brilliant immediate results in TalkingPoint

16 May 2007.  Voicescene Ltd ran a workshop at the Lord Haldon Hotel, near Exeter, under the auspices of the Exeter Business Network.  Three volunteers who had no experience of speech recognition, did the preliminary training in approximately 7 minutes.  Each was then asked to dictate about 100 words of text without loking at the computer screen  Each was timed and checked for errors by others in the group.  The results proved the claims that 98% accuracy is achievable immediately.

Volunteer number one: 70 seconds;    2 misrecognition errors.  (98% recognition)
Volunteer number two: 125 seconds;  3 misrecognition errors.  (97% recognition)
Volunteer number two: 130 seconds;  4 misrecognition errors.  (Approximately 150 words dictated). (97.3% recognition)

All the delegates agreed that under the circumstances this was an exceptional result and proved that TalkingPoint provides an effective and exciting means of communication with the computer that eliminates RSI and postural problems, while at the same time providing the user with a far quicker less stressful means of creating documents and managing workflow on the computer.
