TalkingPoint Digital Dictation

A simple low-cost no-nonsense solution to dictation at the workstation (PC or laptop) and the logistics associated with document production.  The benefits are:

  • Minimised turnaround times.
  • Improved recording clarity and security.
  • More flexible working practices.

Easy Recording

Select a document type and start recording.  Everything else is handled automatically.  Digital dictation allows the insertion of text without overwriting.  Completed recordings are automatically and immediately sent to the secretaries in tray folder.

Recording can be done direct to a workstation computer or laptop.

A good-quality USB microphone can be used that is compatible with the computer.
Recommended equipment includes:

Phillips SpeechMike Pro.

Easy Audio-Typing

Documents can be prioritised and can be easily identified by the secretary who controls work in the traditional manner with foot pedals.  The simple TalkingPoint Typing Bar displays progress and allows instant access to any part of the recording.  Recordings are saved to the "finished" folder for future reference.

The transcription kit for the secretary is priced very competitively and includes foot pedals, headset and software.

Installation and Training

Voicescene installs and configures TalkingPoint Digital Dictation workstations.  Up to eight workstations can be installed in a single man day.  Training is also provided as required.

System Requirements

The computer system needs to be Windows 98 or later with USB support, a soundcard for USB port and a further USB port for foot pedals.  The computer should have a minimum of 256MB of RAM.  A shared area on the network server for storing current recordings with access from workstations is also required.

System Integration

TalkingPoint Digital Dictation can be quickly configured to suit specific needs and to integrate with existing systems and work flows.

It integrates seamlessly with TalkingPoint Speech-to-Text to allow the benefits of speech recognition to be combined with Digital Dictation.
